Interior Lighting – Lighting Codes
The advent of progressively more aggressive lighting codes, from Federal, State, and Local mandates, has transformed the interior lighting landscape. Many of the existing lamp and ballast types currently installed in the majority of buildings throughout the United States have already been rendered obsolete by the Environmental Protection Agency. This means manufacturers are no longer permitted to produce them. Although replacement products for the older systems may exist for the near future, the supply will rapidly dry up and the newer, much more efficient types will have to be installed.
Interior Lighting – Capabilities
We look at this in a very positive way at Lighting Maintenance Inc (LMI). For one, we offer complete interior lighting audits, at no charge, to obtain inventories of the obsolete products. We proceed from there to develop turnkey solutions to retrofit entire lighting systems, often reducing energy consumption by up to 70% while delivering better quantity and quality of light. We also develop the best control scenarios available to further drive burn hours lower when lighting is not needed and day light harvesting to dim artificial loads when natural sun light is present.
A very easy way to understand this evolving shift in technology is to consider the automobile industry’s task of delivering more “Miles Per Gallon”, or MPG. In the lighting world, it’s called “Lumens Per Watt”, or LPW.
All of our programs maximize return on investment for our customers including management and calculation of available Utility rebate program incentives, Federal tax credits and long term warranty programs to deliver the best overall managed lighting systems in the industry.
