01 Feb LUMENPULSE / Buzzard Point Project
In 2019, Pepco Sent out an Invitation to bid for adding lighting to their Buzzard Point Substation.
The design was basic and Lighting Maintenance and CNR Lighting Brought in Lumenpulse to design the RGB Lighting with the idea of adding a sense of originality and character to their location.
Going back to September of 2020, the team went through complete design changes to the RBG programmable scene system multiple times, resulting in multiple site visits and tireless engagement between LMI Pepco engineers and management to produce an epic final design.
The project was officially in motion September of 2021. All hopes were that lighting would be energized by September 21st. Starting with building down lighting for the newly completed Fredrick Douglass Bridge opening. LMI worked long hours to achieve this aggressive goal and at 7pm lit the building up with the preset colors as the programming wouldn’t be completed until the end of the project by Lumenpulse.
The design changed during the project to add separate controls for the yard as there was not a feasible way to connect the Pharos Controller to the yard due to access of the historic building to the ground.
LMI was awarded a separate contract to install the yard wall conduit and separate controls. The Final Goal is completion by February 15th and LMI is set to achieve that goal.
We look forward to sharing the progress of this project as it continues to move forward.
