In September and October of 2015, we were contracted by Musco Sports Lighting to install state-of-the-art LED sports lights for the new Towson University Tennis complex. The energy savings and the zero-spill light were the main reasons why Towson University chose the Musco LED lighting system. LMI and Musco have teamed up on many successful field lighting projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
This project encompassed removing the existing poles and foundations, digging and pouring new foundations, directional bore conduit work, and wiring and setting 50’ poles with LED fixtures. The project also involved furnishing a new electrical service, which is all tied into the schools high voltage system.
The project was completed on time and within budget, despite encountering solid rock in several of the caissons and conduit runs. The courts were designed to be lit to 75 FC (foot-candle) for NCAA standards.
