Our roadway lighting team converted high mast lights in Richmond, Virginia and Fredericksburg, Virginia from 1000 watt high pressure sodium (HPS) to energy saving LED. This project was trusted to LMI by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Step one was lowering the ring of lights from 120 feet above the ground down to working height. Next, our crews removed the old HPS lights and installed the new LED fixtures. Once installed and tested, the lights were raised back to the top of the pole and locked in place. As you drive through these areas, you will notice the lights we upgraded as they give off a crisp, white light compared to the yellow light of HPS.
